DESCRIPTION:Does Venus Life exist?\nAbout The Talk\nWith the possible discovery of traces of phosphine gas in the Venus’ atmosphere some scientists are now asking could this be an indicator for Life.\nOn Earth the only known natural source of traces of phosphine is microbial life.\nThe talk will look at the evidence and the scientific communities response to try and resolve the question is there Life in the Venusian atmosphere.\nThis Month’s Speaker\nGary Auker is a long standing friend to the society and has been giving astronomy talks to NEAS for over 25 years. He previously worked in the aerospace industry. Now semi retired he gives occasional talks on Astronomy to local groups in Essex and Suffolk.\n—-\nAnyone is welcome – beginner or expert – and there is no need to pre-book. A small charge applies to help us cover costs (typically £3 for non-members; £2 for NEAS members; U16s free).
